Levels of Detail
Once you have built the splines in Surface Tools, you can
control the Level of Detail by specifying the number of
subdivisions between each control point when you Surface
the Splines. (Specify the Patch Topology under the
Surface Modifier). The models above use settings 0, 1,
and 2 to produce models of 320, 1240, and 2400 polygons.
Rendered Levels of Detail - the figures above contain 328,
1248, and 2808, and 4992 polygons. The underlying splines
used to derive all of these models can be seen on the 3rd
figure to the Right.
